Did you ever dream of getting behind the wheel of one of the world’s fastest and most expensive cars?  Many people do, and if you’re one of them:  get in, sit down, shut up, and hang on, because this article is going to blow your mind.  Grandted, the cars we will be discussing here are not necessarily in the “luxury” class of vehicles.  These are high powered street demons for those who like to live on the edge.  Get ready to put the pedal to the metal and the international cashier’s check ready to transfer.

First up is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.  At $2,400,000 USD,  this is far and away the most expensive street legal automobile currently available on the market.  The entry model Veyron is a little more affordable with its comparably modest price tag of only $1,700,000. The Super Sport, however, can get you from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.  That’s clearly worth the extra $700,000.  The 2010 Super Sport Version was clocked as reaching a top speed of 267 mph in recent tests.  That’s fast.

One of the newest modesl of Lamborghini is the Reventon, and it is arguably the most outrageous Lamborghini ever made. It is also the most expensive Lamborghini ever made.  If you have about 1.6 million dollars laying around, you could afford one;  but getting one is going to be quite the trick since production was limited to only 20 models. The Reventon was sold out before the cars were even produced. It’s the fastest and most powerful Lamborghini in the world, featuring an impressive 640 bhp V12 engine which enables it to accelerate from from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds.  Top speed:  211 mph.

The world renowned McLaren F1 for only $970,000 is a real steal compared to the Lamborghini and the Bugatti.  In 1994, it held the title for being the fastest and most expensive car in the world.  Despite having been built 15 years ago, the McLaren F1 has a dizzying  top speed of 240 mph and can reach 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. This mean, lean racing machine still outperforms many super cars that were built as recently as last month.
